The town once referred to in the 80’s as “Dull Ray” for its boarded-up downtown stores and desolate streets just won Rand McNally’s and USA Today’s award for Most Fun Small Town in America.

The Rand McNally team which visited the city while it was under nationwide consideration for the honor, described Delray Beach as having “a ‘Miami meets Manhattan in the ’60’s’ vibe (think Panama hats and individually owned shops, not flip-flops and chain restaurants).”
