A Message from Your Board of Directors

Good News!!
Berkshire by the Sea will be re-opening this Saturday, September 23.

Throughout the storm and the days after we have kept in almost constant touch, through our phone calls, with Marianne. She also provided us with daily e-mail updates which were posted on our website and sent via e-mail to any owner who signed up.

On a day-to-day basis we know that we are lucky to have a wonderful resort manager in Marianne. In addition, the team she has built, Sergio, Heron and Ivette along with our housekeepers are equally awesome in making Berkshire by the Sea our “home away from home.”

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to Marianne and our dedicated staff for your efforts in helping Berkshire by the Sea recover so quickly from the damage caused by Hurricane Irma!!

Sincerely, David Cantor, President Mike Arnold, Vice-President Rich Guzzardi, Secretary Ron Routson, Treasurer Claire Reynolds, Director

FINAL STORM UPDATE As of today the Resort has full electric and cable restored. Clean-up, painting & repairs continue. We still have lots of landscape debris to be removed and it will be awhile before we can determine the plants that survived and the those needing to be replaced.

We will re-open this Saturday, September 23.

Thank you to all of our owners who called and/or emailed their thoughts and prayers about the staff and your Resort. Your support and our care for you and this beautiful place is what kept us going. We look forward to seeing you soon!

We have lights!!!! Yes, full power was restored about noon today. However, we still do not have cable. Work continues by our staff: Pool decks have been power washed, all pool furniture has been cleaned and waxed, and we have begun exterior clean-up of the A,B & C buildings. The D building has been rinsed, balconies cleaned & sliding doors washed. While the contractor works on the walkways doing patching, concrete repairs & painting, our housekeepers are dusting, sweeping & mopping.

We will still have work to do but for those week 38 owners, please join us on Saturday. We will be ready!

Today was all about progress. Flooring company was here to measure and get ready to replace flooring in two bedrooms. Painting company brought two crews in to begin making repairs to D building walkways before re-painting begins. After this project is finished they will then concentrate on repairing walls and windows as needed due to water intrusion. Our staff completed the D building balcony cleaning . The amount of sand removed was unbelievable. All walls were washed in the D building and balcony window cleaning was completed. Our plan is to begin the same cleaning on the A,B & C buildings tomorrow. We still have only limited power and no cable. Representatives from the cable company were here today assessing damage and Florida Power trucks are back in the area. We are still tentatively hoping to open on Saturday, September 23.

Wednesday, September 13 10:00 a.m.
Property clean-up continues. Repairs will begin as soon as contractor scheduling permits. We still have limited power and no cable. The City of Delray Beach is still struggling with electrical outages, downed trees, few working stoplights, and supplies and gas are very limited. So, at this time we are looking at a tentative re-opening date of Saturday, September 23. Please continue to watch this website for updates!

September 12 -11:00 a.m.
The staff and their families are all fine. The Resort did sustain some damage, but nothing that we and our contractor partners can't take care of. At this time we have partial power and phone system is working. Clean-up is beginning. Some contractors have already been here assessing damage and making repairs.
